ABOUT US

Exchange is at the centre of what we do.

Soulgen is a social-enterprise consultancy which collaborates with councils, organisations, young people and diverse communities to grow their confidence and work better together. Through Asset Based Community Development, storytelling and creative arts we facilitate nurturing spaces where everyone's skills and experiences are recognised and mobilised for social impact.

CONNECT
Our Pillars
Since 2013, Soulgen has been rewriting the handbook on community development. We don't follow a map, rather, we co-design creative workshops to engage and nurture your people.

EMPATHY

We understand that change is daunting. Through our collaborative approach to community development we build trust with individuals. Observing their stories provides assurance that we will value their contributions when designing change, and provides them with the assurance that they will not be lost in the sea of voices.

SUSTAINABILITY

Soulgen isn’t just about saying, it's about doing. From co-creation to our hands-on workshops, you’re involved in every step of the process. By inviting vulnerability, participants are empowered to share and learn from each other’s experiences. In the process, they learn more about themselves and the skills that they possess.

CO-CREATION

We believe that relationships and support networks are the key to sustainable communities. Beyond our workshops and sessions, we keep in touch through our social media, newsletters and podcasts so that you can stay connected with your peers and learn from other leaders in community development.

Our Story
Since 2013, Soulgen has been rewriting the handbook on community development. We don't follow a map, rather, we co-design creative workshops to engage and nurture the people in your community.
Our story begins with founder Dimitrios Papalexis, whose work as a counsellor, trainer and facilitator in Australia, Greece and Brazil inspires our diverse offerings. We welcome groups and communities of all sizes to be involved in our training sessions, events and workshops which identify their strengths and mobilise them so they can achieve their unique goals.

I’ve had a very enriching experience co-designing a workshop for widening student participation with Dimitrios. He brings to the table not only his broad experience working with communities and youth development, but also a deep understanding of various frameworks and methodologies for fostering inclusivity in diverse and challenging contexts.
